On February 25, 2016, UI’s Russia Programme arranged a discussion on Russia’s domestic challenges.
Following the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, Russia’s political and economic situation has changed dramatically. Sanctions, falling oil prices and increasing isolation have had a large impact on Russian society.
Speakers:
Andrey Zubov, is a Russian historian and political scientist, and a former Professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). He was dismissed from his post by the university for criticizing Putin's military intervention in Ukraine.

The seminar was moderated by Martin Kragh, Senior Reseach Fellow and Head of UI’s Russia Programme.
