Georgia, Ukraine and EU integration: what is the agenda?
Evenemang
With the goal of EU integration, Georgia and Ukraine have for several years attempted political and economic reform. Although both countries have seen certain progress in areas such as anti-corruption and energy reform, several challenges persist. Domestically, not all political elites are in favour of potentially disruptive changes to the status quo. In foreign affairs, Georgia as well as Ukraine have seen parts of their territories taken under Russian military control. The EU's Eastern Partnership remains on the agenda of Brussels, but an "expansion fatigue" has also been settling in several established EU member countries. How is EU integration in Georgia and Ukraine moving forward? What challenges and threats may lie ahead?
