Human Rights in Occupied Donbas
Halya Coynash and Andreas Umland held a discussion on human rights violations in the occupied parts of Ukraine´s Donbas. What is happening in Eastern Ukraine and what is the future of its people?
There have been egregious abuses of political and civil rights in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine since 2014. Most violations are the result of Russia’s effective, yet persistently denied, political control over the pseudo-states. This webinar will focus on the major human rights issues in the occupied territories of the Donbas.
Speakers:
Halya Coynash, member of the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group, political analyst and prolific publicist in Ukraine.
Andreas Umland, Research Fellow at UI.
The discussion was moderated by Martin Kragh, Head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at UI.
