The role of urban spaces in war and peacebuilding
Throughout history, urban spaces have been used as battlefields in war. Most recently, following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine we have seen how conflict is localized, both in defensive and offensive operations.
The webinar explores the use of urban spaces in war and post-war settings. Why are urban spaces so important in war? Is the recent Ukrainian war a continuation of a long history of urban warfare or can we see something new? And following conflict, what role can urban spaces play in post-war settings and peacebuilding processes?
