COP29: Who will finance climate action?

The Swedish Institute of International Affairs invites you to a COP29 webinar!

This year's climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, looks to become a "financial COP" as climate financing will be a central focus for negotiations. But what parties should actually carry the responsibility for financing climate action and how much financial aid is needed to create a just transition remains contentious. COP29 is also shadowed by heightened geopolitical tensions and an American presidential election result that could be highly implactful for the future of global cooperation and diplomacy for combating the climate crisis. Therefore, with help by experts in key regions including the US, India, China, South Africa and the EU, this webinar will dig deeper into these issues and discuss the biggest challenges and possibilities for COP29.
