COP29 in focus
This year's climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan looks to become a "financial COP" as climate financing will be a central focus for negotiations. But what parties should actually carry the responsibility for financing climate action and how much financial aid is needed to create a just transition remains contentious. COP29 is also shadowed by heightened geopolitical tensions and an American presidential election result that could be highly implactful for the future of global climate diplomacy.
