Global Order in a World of Diversities
Together with the Legitimacy in Global Governance programme, the Global Politics and Security Programme at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs organised a roundtable on world-order conceptions.
The roundtable brings together internationally renowned academics to discuss key features of a legitimate global order and the main challenges to legitimate global governance. Is for example state sovereignty and open world economy essential for a legitimate global order? Or do human rights and sustainability play a more crucial role? The speakers will highlight a diversity of perspectives on what constitutes a legitimate global order. This high-level discussion will give a snapshot of how we best could manage diverging conceptions of what constitutes a legitimate global order.
