Climate Politics Unveiled – European, Finnish and Swedish Perspectives
The discussion in this webinar will focus on views and positions related to climate change.
The publication Climate Change and the Future of Europe. Views from the Capitals will be presented by one of its editors, who will also be the moderator. Thereafter the other three participants will give their views on the politicization of European climate policies and, thereafter, deal with some particular Finnish and Swedish issues related to climate change and its mitigation. The audience will be invited to participate in the discussion.
Speakers:
Niklas Bremberg is Associate Professor in Political Science at Stockholm University and Associate Senior Research Fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs.
Emma Hakala is Leading researcher at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Helsinki.
Gunilla Herolf, PhD, is Senior Associate Research Fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, Stockholm.
The conversation will be moderated by Johannes Pollak, Rector and Univ.-Professor of Political Science at the International Relations Department at the Webster Vienna Private University, Wien.
This seminar is part of the series Europe’s Future, whose most recent publication, Climate Change and the Future of Europe. Views from the Capitals, has been published by the Springer Publishing Company. Editors are Michael Kaeding, University of Duisburg-Essen, Johannes Pollak, Webster Vienna Private University and Paul Schmidt, Austrian Society for European Politics. The series, which consists of monographs and edited volumes, analyses topical European issues from the perspective of each EU Member State and neighboring countries, helping to understand the different aspects of the future of the European project.
